CBID workshop facilitated by DAHW
A two-day Community Based Inclusive Development workshop facilitated by German Leprosy and TB Relief Association (DAHW) was conducted at MALC Training Institute, Karachi, on 7th and 8th May, 2018. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ernst Hisch-Specialist Disability & Rehabilitation, DAHW Germany, and Mr. Prakash Wagle (via skype)-CBID Advisor for Asia, DAHW Nepal.
Participants learned about the different models of disability, the transition of Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) to Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) and Right Based Approach. They also learned how to conduct effective SWOC (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges) and stakeholder analysis, and engaged in BEAM exercise as well (Strengths: Build on, Weaknesses: Eliminate, Opportunities: Access and Threats: Minimize). MALC expresses its sincere appreciation to DAHW for arranging the workshop, and hopes for a continuation in such teaching-learning workshops.
