International Women’s Day Celebration

MALC commemorated International Women’s Day with a small gathering for its female staff in Karachi at MALC Head Office. This year’s theme is #BalanceForBetter. Mr. Fateh Muhammad, with over 35 years’ experience at MALC,  shared his inspirational thoughts about women’s efforts,  and how they form an integral part of our society with their contributions, especially to the Program.

Mr. Mervyn Lobo, CEO – MALC in his speech also stressed the importance of equal opportunities for women and their participation in society. Reminiscing the times prior to Leprosy Control in Pakistan, in earlier days females from the local communities were not involved in fieldwork, the foreign volunteers played a substantial role, but now times have changed;  females employed at MALC are putting tremendous efforts.  He summed up his thoughts by appreciating their work despite the challenges they face.

Mr. Savio Martin Pereira, Director HR & Administration – MALC,  mentioned “an organization can progress with all genders working together” and emphasized the significance of promoting a work culture for women with concerted efforts of employees.

Ms. Salma Shabeer and Dr. Kanta Lal also spoke on the occasion.
