MALC celebrates 65th WORLD LEPROSY DAY
World Leprosy day is annually observed around the world on the last Sunday of January to increase the public awareness of the Leprosy disease. MALC celebrated World Leprosy Day with a pledge to raise awareness about Leprosy and to share our achievements mainly to keep Leprosy under control and to spread the key message that Leprosy is not a curse, it is a treatable disease like any other disease. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. Fazal Ullha Pechuo (Secretary Health, Sind). Sindh health secretary Dr Fazlullah paid rich tribute to the selfless services of Dr. Ruth Pfau for the country, and stressed that the efforts and work should continue with the same zeal. Mr Lobo- CEO MALC in his key note message said we have been working to eliminate leprosy from Pakistan for the last 60 years. He said that World Leprosy Day symbolised the feeling of togetherness and love with the patients affected by leprosy. Besides, it also provided an opportunity to all of us working for leprosy to come closer and renew our commitment for a Leprosy free world. The event was organized at the Karachi Arts Council.
