67th World Leprosy Day
MALC commemorated 67th World Leprosy Day on January 28, 2020 at Marriott Hotel, Karachi, with the kind support of Jubilee Life Insurance, ABL Asset Management Company Limited and Alfalah GHP Investment Management Ltd. The theme this year of World Leprosy Day is Zero Discrimination and Stand Up For Human Rights.
MALC was honoured by the presence of his Eminence Joseph Cardinal Coutts, Archbishop of Karachi, President – Governing Board of MALC, His Excellency Mr. Eugen Wollfarth, the Consul General, Federal Republic of Germany, Karachi – who was also the Chief Guest for the occasion, Ms. Claudia Villani, a longstanding benefactor of MALC in Austria, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Memon, Special Secretary Health, Government of Sindh, members of the Clergy, members of MALC Governing Board, Government officials and the distinguished guests of MALC.
Through the event, MALC was able to express gratitude to all those corporate partners, philanthropists and schools who supported MALC’s cause last year for the uplift of marginalized communities by providing free of charge services for Leprosy, Tuberculosis & Blindness Control, Maternal Child Health Care and Community Based Inclusive Development throughout the country.
Every year on the occasion of World Leprosy Day, MALC also honours employees for their tireless and longstanding services to the organization. Mr. Savio Pereira, Director HR & Administration – MALC, announced the names of those employees completing 25 years of service namely Mr. Gopal Ghavri, Procurement Manager, Mr. Samad Ali, Senior Leprosy Technician, Mr. Muhammad Raza, Senior Leprosy Technician and Ms. Afshan Javaid, Chief Leprosy Technician.
