Relief and Rehabilitation Efforts in Pakistan
Recovering from the aftermath of the 2022 floods in Pakistan remains a long-term process. Even a year later, many communities continue to struggle with rebuilding their homes, lives and livelihood. However, thanks to the generosity of our international and local partners, relief and rehabilitation efforts have made a significant impact.
In the affected communities, medical camps provided crucial healthcare, treating individuals for various health conditions. To address hunger, food hampers were distributed, with priority given to malnourished children and vulnerable families. A total of 199 tents were distributed across Sindh and Baluchistan, providing shelter to displaced families, while ladies’ suits were provided to those who lost their belongings in the floods.
The installation of hand pumps in these communities restored access to clean water, a basic human right. One-room houses were constructed, offering refuge to families whose homes were destroyed. A community center was established to promote solidarity and resilience among the affected populations.
This comprehensive effort not only met immediate needs but also laid the foundation for long-term recovery, helping the affected communities rebuild their lives and regain hope.
