Mother & Child Healthcare

Every child deserves a healthy start in life, and every mother should have access to quality healthcare during pregnancy and childbirth. The birth of a child should be a moment of joy and celebration, yet for too many women worldwide, it’s overshadowed by fear and uncertainty due to the lack of essential healthcare services.

Mother and Child Health Care (MCHC) is crucial in preventing unnecessary deaths and improving the well-being of both mothers and children. However, many still lack access to essential health services, education, sanitation, and nutrition. In response, MALC has developed its MCHC Program over the past decade, offering comprehensive care in marginalized areas of Karachi and Sindh, addressing the promotive, preventive, and curative needs of women and children under five.

Our MCHC services include:

  • Weekly outpatient consultations with a doctor and free medication for women and children.
  • Nutrition Program for malnourished children under five.
  • Vaccination services in collaboration with the government.
  • Flashes of light or sudden bright floating spots
  • Medical Camps in remote outreach areas.
  • Health and hygiene awareness sessions focused on topics like the importance of breastfeeding.
  • Empowerment programs that provide women and children with education and social support in select areas.
The MCHC program collaborates with other disciplines, such as Community-Based Inclusive Development, TB, and Eye-care, to offer women and children a more holistic healthcare service. At MALC, we prioritize maternal health due to its profound impact on families and communities. Access to quality maternal care ensures the mother’s health and promotes the well-being of her newborn and family.
