Memorial of Dr. Ruth Pfau’s 6th Death Anniversary with flood affectees in Tando Jan Muhammad, Sindh

On the occasion of Dr. Ruth Pfau’s 6th Death Anniversary, MALC team visited a village ‘Lakhano Mugheri’ in Tando Jan Muhmmad Sindh. The team diligently worked to educate the local community on the importance of personal hygiene and maintaining a clean & healthy home environment. The participants, who had been severely affected by the devastating floods of 2022, were overjoyed to enter their newly constructed houses. With the kind support of New Zealand High Commission, 25 houses have been constructed for needy individuals in the area. The villagers have already started transferring their belongings.

Following the session, the team accompanied by approximately 50 villagers participated in a tree plantation activity, transforming the area into an ecofriendly space. The villagers took pride in contributing to the greenery of their village, and the sense of contentment was evident. An insightful memorial talk was also organized to honor the legacy of Dr. Ruth Pfau, Founder Member – MALC, highlighting her dedication to serving humanity. MALC team later conducted a Medical Camp, where 75 beneficiaries received healthcare. Skin ailments, respiratory tract infections and malnourishment were commonly treated, which further enhanced the well-being of the community.
